It's time to start running again
"I have had all I can take and I can't takes no more". Popeye (I'm really into quotes these days)
It has been 1 1/2 years since my last race. I feel like I have a good handle on my injuries(hamstring tear) and conditions (piriformis syndrome) and I am ready to hit the pavement and log some real miles. I have not yet decided on a half or full marathon this spring but it is something rather than nothing. I have spent the last year healing old wounds mentally and physically, logged a few miles here and there but building some good strength. I started with some cardio and plyometric classes at Lifetime and alternated spinning, swimming and lite running. Then in August I started a new program from a book called The New Rules of Weightlifting for Women. The first stage was a 7 week progream which went really well. I am currently on Stage 2 but may have to drop that down to one day a week to start focusing on milage build up.
